HOW WE WORK
The Women and Gender Constituency (WGC) is more than a network – it’s an ecosystem of feminist action.
We organize collectively, not hierarchically. Our strength lies in how we work: grounded in shared values, driven by care and justice, and guided by the lived realities of our members – especially feminists from the Global Majority.

what we do
Run Year-Round Working Groups
We host open working groups on every major UNFCCC theme – from finance and adaptation to gender, just transition agriculture SRHR and demilitarization. These spaces connect advocates, share strategies, and shape feminist policy demands.
Coordinate Collective Advocacy
Together with our Advocacy Collective and Members, we co-create official positions, policy submissions, intervention language, and briefing papers that reflect diverse feminist perspectives and frontline realities.
Support Regional Organizing
We grow and anchor regional WGC hubs in Africa, MENA, Latin America and the Caribbean – strengthening regional leadership and ensuring global advocacy is informed by local realities.
Ensure Feminist Representation
We nominate advocates to speak in official UNFCCC spaces – plenary interventions, dialogues with the COP Presidency, and technical workshops—ensuring diverse feminist leadership is visible and heard.
Host Monthly Advocacy Calls and Trainings
We host monthly calls, strategy sessions, and training to equip advocates with tools to navigate UNFCCC processes and strengthen collective action. These sessions are open to all members of our Advocacy Collective.
Hold Space at COP and SBs
During negotiations, we coordinate daily WGC caucus meetings, support collective actions, organize debriefs, and prioritize safety, care, and visibility across the process for our members.
