Nov 11 Action Alert: Gender Justice Day

As COP30 unfolds in Belém, Brazil, feminist movements from every region are uniting under one shared message: Gender Justice = Climate Action.

On November 11, the Women and Gender Constituency is mobilizing for Gender Justice Day.

We’ll come together inside the COP30 venue and around the world to demand that governments adopt a renewed Gender Action Plan (GAP) – one that is ambitious, accountable, and transformative.

This is a pivotal year. As anti-rights and anti-climate forces gain ground, feminists everywhere are standing firm in solidarity. We know that climate justice without gender justice is a false promise, and that feminist leadership is already shaping the foundations of a just transition.

What’s Happening in Belém

💜 Morning Caucus

Feminist advocates and allies will gather for a collective action calling for an ambitious and transformative Gender Action Plan. Visuals will include coordinated messages, purple attire, and symbolic art created in collaboration with feminist artists from across regions.

💜 Fearless Banner Workshop: Feminist Futures

🕥 10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. | 📍 Climate Justice Hub

Feminists from across the world will paint a collective vision for a feminist future, woven from resistance, joy, and solidarity.

💜 Action: Baskets to Belém

Join a creative action amplifying feminist demands and collective care. Be part of the movement as we bring our messages and commitments into the heart of COP30.

Speakers will outline key feminist priorities for COP30 and expectations for the Gender Action Plan outcome.

Feminists will gather alongside government officials for an engaging conversation on key climate themes and explore how collaboration can strengthen gender-transformative action under the UNFCCC.

🕡 6:30–11:00 p.m. | 📍 Feminist Bar (Rebuwr Club)

The day will close with an evening of feminist joy and solidarity, underscoring that “Joy is also a strategy. A feminist future is one where thriving replaces surviving.”
