Bridget Burns is a feminist advocate and strategist working at the intersection of gender equality, women’s rights, and environmental justice. Bridget has led advocacy on gender equality in the outcomes of the UN Climate Change negotiations since 2009. She leads the Women’s Environment and Development Organization (WEDO), where she supports women’s leadership in climate and environmental decision-making – from global negotiations under the UNFCCC to grassroots organizing. With nearly two decades of experience, she has developed initiatives such as the Women Delegates Fund and co-founded key tools and alliances like the Gender Climate Tracker and the Gender and Environment Data Alliance (GEDA). Bridget is passionate about collective power, care-centered leadership, and reimagining climate governance to deliver just and sustainable futures for all.
