Marrakech, Morocco (November, 14, 2016) – On Monday Daniela Rangel from Gender Equity in Mexico, on behalf of the Women and Gender Constituency, provided a statement for the closing of the 45th Session of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI). She welcomed the Decision on Gender and Climate Change on Agenda item 16 and the devising of the Gender Action Plan “as this will be a step into the systematic integration of gender equality measures to address the climate crisis.” Yet, she denounced that the Decision is lacking commitments to finance the implementation of the Gender Action Plan and misses a reference for the need to guarantee human rights and to ensure a just transition for all.
