The Women and Gender Constituency organized the webinar “Advocacy for Gender Just Climate Action” on July 31st from 11:00-12:30 UTC. This was the first of several planned events this year both showcasing and addressing designers and implementers of gender just climate solutions.
Climate ambition does not only refer to mitigation commitments but to transforming climate action and putting a human-centered approach at its heart. This webinar showcased three examples of gender-just climate action and advocacy from the Gender Just Climate Solutions initiative, featuring Madina Amin Hussein (Global Nature Conservation), Sanjay Banka (Banka BioLoo) and Ndivile Mokoena (GenderCC-Women for Climate Justice Southern Africa and WGC Co-Focal Point).
In addition to presenting these Gender Just Climate Solutions, the WGC’s Gina Cortés Valderrama (Women Engage for a Common Future), Tara Daniel (Women’s Environment and Development Organization), and Patricia Bohland (LIFE e.V. and WGC Coordinator) shared resources to support advocacy for gender just climate action.
